BIO OF iWAVE FOUNDER Katie Darling MSU*
Katie was deliberately conceived and born in England in the 1950s to two British atheist physicists. Her parents were drafted in World War II, to work on the bomb, supposedly to stop Hitler. Horrified by the Hiroshima apocalypse, they pioneered the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and later the "CND," met in their living room as Katie was growing up. The walls were decorated with posters showing mushroom clouds, creating a potent atmosphere for nuclear meltdown of all kinds.
FIRST FEW MELTDOWNS
After this "nuclear family" melted down in her teens, she found herself in an unexpected spiritual awakening while studying psychology at Sussex University. Surprised to meet God within, despite her deeply skeptical conditioning, she dedicated her life to finding out more...
20s, From 18-30, followed an Eastern spiritual teacher as a full-vows monk. He sent her around the world spreading his message of meditation. Fluent in French and Spanish, she spent years in Spain, France and South America, ending up in the States. She was surprised again to find herself marrying a fellow-monk and becoming an American!
30s: Emerging from an increasingly dysfunctional involvement with her teacher, she found that she was not in the great inner shape that one might expect after 12 years of meditation, service and spiritual discipline. In fact, she was a mess, emotionally and physically! Realizing the imbalance of going "up, up, infinitely up," (as her teacher once put it), she began a process of coming down into her body and emotions and including them in her spiritual path. Her integrated teaching of "descension rather than ascension" was considered very radical back then (1984).
After a very short time exploring this more integral spiritual approach, (and before even thinking of putting out a shingle), Katie found herself with a waiting list of people wanting her help. To this day she is not sure how this happened. Thus began her career as a consultant and teacher. Her early clients were often followers of her teacher and of many other teachers and spiritual groups, who wanted help in recovering their lost parts. And later people (and couples) with every other imaginable issue showed up, and have shown up consistently ever since. Katie was on a roll with a private practice which has now lasted decades!
In the early years, as well as working intuitively, Katie became trained in multiple spiritual, psychological, body-centered, mental and emotional practices, like: rebirthing, hypnotherapy, various systems of core belief change, Reichian work, NLP, Avatar (which she taught for years), yoga (40 years), channeling of spirit guides, various systems of Qi Gong, Alexander Technique, Continuum, Reiki (to name a few). After over a decade with no input (those reununciate vows!) she became an avid reader (often a book a day), especially in the fields of psychology, spirituality and science (old and "new"). For the next 15 years, she taught original seminars, saw clients, enjoyed her marriage(s) and figured she had made it. ("Ha ha," said God).
40s: Despite years of apparent success, in 1994, she hit a hard, opaque wall. Sick and broke for about nine months, too tired to practice all her practices, she found herself one day in a meltdown (before anyone used that word!). She was dissolving––both dying and birthing––into an ocean of waves spanning all dimensions––from her body, through thought, feeling and spirit realms, into the Oneness realm––and back. The extreme part of the experience lasted for 3 days. This wavy field told her it was called "the Motherwave," and that the process she was experiencing was "the Meltdown." Shortly after this she jumped out of bed and started teaching the Motherwave trainings, a kind of practical mystery school with 7 levels (each about 60 hours) of which the central technique was The Meltdown™ (a term which she copyrighted in 1995), and which she still teaches, in its new evolution through iWAVE. Thousands of students have gone through all the trainings. For more about the integrated wavy methodology she offers, go HERE (coming soon).
(A couple of interesting sidebars about The Meltdown:
1) It was several years before she saw the connection between this positive meltdown experience and the negative nuclear meltdown she had feared throughout her childhood.
2) The word meltdown has recently become popular lingo for a negative breakdown! Yet, of course, the Meltdown technique™ confers a helpful, healing power to integrate ourselves by dissolving unwanted thoughtforms and other "psychic tumors" in what Eckhart Tolle calls our "pain-bodies.")
As Katie continued to teach through her 40s, the dynamic, fractal map of consciousness which she had discovered continued to pour itself creatively through the inner opening caused by her original, spontaneous meltdown (and subsequent deliberate ones), for 10 years. She experienced a near-continuous download of integrative and practical information and inspiration that continues to this day. Everything was great, people were terrific, business was fine... ("Ha ha...")
50s, in 2004, Motherwave Institute was unexpectedly dissolved, along with her marriage and so-called life. An almost unimaginable period of seeming to lose everything (and everyone) drove her into deep Meltdown mode, although by now, "Meltdown" had become a universal dirty word! Katie found herself at the end of all material or metaphysical striving to resolve anything, from her core soul dilemma to so-called physical and psychological issues. Life forcibly graduated her into a MYSTICAL understanding of things––and amazingly, this worked better than anything she had done (or not done) in her life.

Intense challenges continued––alongside unfathomable miracles––and this spiritual Dark Night Of The Soul began birthing a profound new life, almost unrecognizable. In 2005, she resurrected the work in a more subtle and surrendered version as Soulwave, in Soulwave Institute, for 3 years. Many students became advanced practitioners of motherwave/soulwavework, and some of the best transmissions of the essence of the teaching happened during this time.
In 2008, after spending most of 14 years teaching seminars with an intense schedule, she was guided to take a hiatus to explore a deeper spiritual awakening and have a break from her too-visible life.
A new and more mystical, Oneness-based wave of trainings emerged in 2010 as iWAVE, or "The Infinite Wave."
As of now, January 2016, trainings in the Institute are on hold and iWavework is being shared one-on-one with private clients and through talks and presentations. Katie is exploring new ways of bringing the work to the mysterious "virtual" world, and welcomes your help with this.
